Artist Description:  Gaia - the creator of all things who come from her.  Gaia is made from a n intricate piece of desert fossil bone, using harvested fibers from inside the prickly pear cactus, all found in the Sonoran desert in Arizona.  It is mounted on a piece of Arizona petrified wood from the Triassic period over 250 million years ago.

Hand painted with transparent acrylic colors, and given an archival, museum finish to ensure years of luminous color.
