Artist Description:  Soft hazy pastels recreate the rising blue moon, reflecting the rarity of events.  Blue Moon is made of pieces of desert fossil bone with fascinating burls, using harvested fibe4rs from inside the prickly pear cactus, all found in the Sonoran desert in Arizona.  It is mounted on a piece of Arizona petrified wood from the Triassic period over 250 million years ago

Hand painted with transparent acrylic colors, and given an archival, museum finish to ensure years of luminous color.
