Zeitner, Susie

Z Glass Act was formed in 1998 by Susie Zeitner.  She focused 0n lighting fixtures and format tile.  Thirty-seven years as a graphic designer/illustrator and commercial photo director, and nineteen years as an art glass interior design specialist have made her a success with many national accounts, including large hotels, hospitality and restaurant projects as well as art galleries. She has her studio in Sisters, Oregon.

"Painting with Light" refers to a unique style of drawing and painting with glass powders and enamels combined with sheet glass.  All pieces are original and inspired by the love of drawing and design brought forward from her education and training at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, California.

 Each piece is fired in a large kiln many times to achieve the intended effect. Temperatures range from 1300 to 1500 degrees. Using small screens, the powder is sifted in layers, sometimes fusing each layer separately one at a time. Glass enamel paints are applied over or under powder layers, then fused together in a final firing. Each piece is truly unique and one of a kind.
